The only question in a democracy is how much a person gets to keep, which depends on how much the rest of us are empowered to keep other people from keeping everything.
Americans seem to have forgotten where the left and right come from. The French Revolution had the overtaxed poor on the left side of the room and the untaxed rich on the right side.
The only hope for a “New America” after Trumpism is somehow defeated is taxing and regulating the rich. It is as simple as that.
